Once a bustling town, Croxley is a wonderful location for sporting events. You can play football, baseball, or tennis at a number of fields in this village. In addition to the Croxley Sports Cooperative Society, the town is home to the Dickinson’s Sports Ground, which was the site of a local cricket club. After 27 years of trading as Cliff Sports, Formerly Croxley, this quaint local business has recently undergone a major renovation. Its interior features many vintage items, which make it an ideal place to pick up some sports gear. In addition to bespoke workwear, the shop also sells sports equipment and offers embroidery services. The store has been voted “best sports shop in London” by its customers.
Croxley Sports Cooperative Society
The Croxley Sports Cooperative Society offers a variety of sports for everyone in the community, from football and rugby to golf and fishing. The community is served by a parish council and the Croxley Sports Cooperative Society. Croxley has a strong local history, which is reflected in the local library. The Dickinsons family were responsible for many of the town’s benefits and services, and the family’s business was featured in the John Betjeman film. The town was also home to the Croxley Revels, a popular community event which was established in the early 1950s.
Croxley Manor House
The Croxley Manor House, formerly the Croxley Sports Ground, is a Grade II* listed building in the village of Croxley, Hertfordshire. The property dates back to the 13th century, when Croxley Great Barn was built. The building’s heyday is now the St Joan of Arc School. The village also benefited from the growth of the nearby Amersham Urban District. The Croxley Great Barn is also a listed building, and is part of the village green.
Croxley Guild of Sport & Social Club
The Croxley Guild of Sport & Social club is a non-profit organisation in Croxley Green, WD3. They have an excellent range of sports and social activities for its members. You can enjoy a drink and a meal in the cafe-kitchen or join the club’s social events for a small membership fee. Membership costs are very reasonable. Croxley Hall Farm
The history of Croxley Hall Farm, formerly known as Croxley Sports, dates back to the fourteenth century. The town’s parish council has been active in its preservation and restoration efforts since the 1970s. The farm’s barn was constructed in the late fifteenth century and leased to William Baldwin in 1840. In 1871, the Old Merchant Taylors’ Society formed and used Durrants as a playing field. In 1951, Croxley Green celebrated its 100th anniversary, commemorating its Cliff sports that was seen as the beginning of modern Revels. The Catholic Church built the Chapel of Ease in Baldwins Lane. The Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Oak was planted on Croxley Green. The village also welcomed the opening of Rickmansworth School in 1954.
Croxley Great Barn
A trip to the town of Croxley, Hertfordshire, would not be complete without a visit to Croxley Great Barn, Formerly a sports centre. This medieval barn was once used to host athletics and other sporting events. In the thirteenth century, Croxley Great Barn was built for St. Alban’s Abbey. Since then, it has been a popular destination for many locals.
