You’ve been dating your fiancée for over five years, and after all that time you’re finally ready to tie the knot. However, your friends and family don’t think you should get married until after you have the best bachelor party in Costa Rica on a budget. Lucky for you, if you can follow these tips, you’ll be able to have an epic bachelor party while staying within your means!

Drink Like A Local
While out at bars and clubs, keep in mind that your cocktail choices are often limited by what’s stocked behind the bar. That means you might not have your standard vodka-soda or gin-and-tonic if you’re traveling abroad. So how do you order like a local? First of all, don’t be afraid to ask for recommendations. The bartender might recommend local specialties–like shots of rum with ginger ale, a caipirinha or anise-flavored liqueurs–that aren’t as well known outside of their country of origin but are totally delicious nonetheless. Oh, and don’t worry about offending anyone by asking for help; bartenders love when travelers take an interest in their native drinks!

Try Out Some Low-Stakes Gambling
The best way to learn how to play poker is by playing it. If you’re serious about learning, grab some of your friends and find an open table at your local casino. Better yet, register for a $10 tournament and test your skills against strangers. Some people shy away from gambling because they don’t understand basic poker strategy or they’re scared of losing their bankroll early on. These are valid concerns that come with gambling, but when it comes down to it you have nothing to lose (and win) but money—and any online guide is going to tell you that one of the best ways for you learn how to gamble is by starting out with small stakes.

See (And Eat) Like A Local
One of my favorite ways to save money and really experience life as a local is by eating like one. A surprising amount of restaurants (even high-end ones) cater their menus to tourists, so take advantage of that by asking your waiter what their favorite local dishes are. The food they’ll recommend usually won’t break your wallet and it’s often surprisingly tasty, especially if you go out with friends who are also interested in trying something new! In addition, walking around without spending too much can be tricky at first; luckily, there are tons of local coupons available for things like bus rides and museum admissions—just ask when you arrive or check online before you go!

Learn About Costa Rican Culture
If you’re traveling to Costa Rica, it’s worth your time to learn more about what makes its culture unique. For example, did you know that Ticos don’t celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day? Instead, March 17th is known as Invierno Verano (Summer-Winter) and is marked by colder weather than usual. There are also a few drunken brawls and wild parties associated with St. Paddy’s Day around these parts; instead of drinking too much green beer, visitors can indulge in a variety of traditional local dishes while watching parades and participating in contests involving corn shucks or pineapple fronds. Now that’s how you have an Irish-themed holiday!

Go Paragliding In The Rainforest
The Costa Rican jungle is about as exotic and thrilling as it gets. Paragliding is one of the most popular tourist activities in Costa Rica, but you don’t have to break your bank account—or sweat too much—to enjoy it. All three major national parks offer tandem paragliding adventures from $50 per person or less (similar prices can be found at nearby Cloudbridge Nature Reserve). If you’re lucky, your adventure will coincide with torrential rain and colorful fog so thick that it feels like being inside an enchanted cave. This activity really has no equal!

Visit An All-Inclusive Resort On Your Last Day For A Little Luxury
The last day of your bachelor party is not an bachelor party costa rica to skimp—you’re planning it for a reason, after all. If you can afford it, stay at an all-inclusive resort for your last night. It’ll be easier on your wallet and you’ll have access to food, drinks, and activities throughout your entire stay—something you won’t find with other lodging options that might be more centrally located. Plus, you get a day at sea where you can relax and wind down from everything else leading up to that point. But if staying at an all-inclusive resort isn’t in your budget or ideal schedule, skip town early so that you have one final meal together before heading home (if flying) or back out into public (if driving).
